Ridgewood Ledger > Police & CourtsWOODHAVEN — A man was struck and killed in a hit-and-run in Woodhaven, police sources said. On Sunday at approximately 1:58 a.m. at Jamaica Avenue and 85th Street, police responded to call of a pedestrian struck, police said. Upon arriving, police found the man, described as a 45-year-old Hispanic, was struck by a dark-colored SUV traveling eastbound on Jamaica Avenue, police said. The SUV fled the scene, police said. The pedestrian was transported to Jamaica Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival, police said. The man’s name and residence have not been released as of this writing.
